08.12.23 - Queenstown

With both of us in need of a bed and to do some washing, we decided to head to Queenstown for the weekend to stay in a hostel.

It was a good opportunity for us to go out for a drink too, without the restriction of one of us driving.

We arrived a little early to the accommodation, and after navigating some road closures, we managed to find somewhere to park at the hostel, Aspen Lodge. The room was clean and tidy, with a lovely big bed, and the receptionist was very friendly.

After getting ourselves settled and showered, we headed out into Queenstown for food and drinks, despite me not feeling the best. With a cold definitely coming on, we headed to the pharmacy, got some cold and flu tablets, and powered on.

We booked into an Ice Bar in Queenstown, which was a strange experience going from the nice warm sun into -20 degrees, and then out again into the sun, but a lovely way to start the evening, although it probably didn't help me cold!

Whilst walking around the Lake park, we noticed something purple in the shallows of the lake, so Abi waded in, and found a disc golf frisbee. We messaged the number on the frisbee to let them know we had found it, and decided that we would have a go ourselves. Its surprisingly fun, especially after a few drinks, and no idea what we were doing!

The weather held out for us, despite the wind, and we had a great evening. It's nice to be sleeping in a bed again!
