After waking up around 6am again, and Abi waking up at the same time, we headed down to A la baguette again for morning coffee and pastries, both of which were delicious. For ever creatures of habit, we got the same as the previous morning!
After hiking back up the hill to the campsite, we decide now would be a good time to charge our devices before setting off on our explorations.
With the tent now dry, we pack everything into the car, and we're on the road by 10:30, with Peel Forest DOC (Department of Conservation) campground being our next destination. We stopped off for lunch on the way and got the traditional Kiwi lunch of pies and sausage rolls.
With sunshine forecast for the afternoon, we carried on in the direction of Peel Forest. Abi got her first taste of long distance driving, whilst I had a nice nap in the car. Needless to say she managed without any hiccups.
We arrived at Peel Forest campground, and got our tent set up for the evening, and no more than 15 minutes later the heavens opened. There goes our plan for a nice walk!
With the weather showing no signs of improvements, we decided it was best to cook dinner, play some cards, and then watch The life of Brian whilst sheltering in our tent.
It was during these game of cards that Abi started to take a substantial lead...
