After waking up to drizzle, but realising the weather was due to improve, we decided to extend our stay by a night, giving the tent a chance to dry off.
My problem with camping is that I wake up when the sun rises and the birds start singing. Which wouldn't be a problem if that wasn't at 6am 😅
After waiting around for a couple of hours, I decided to head to town in search of coffee and croissants. As we were in a French town (yes, still in NZ), this turned out to be quite easy.
I found a place called A La Baguette, with did lovely coffee and pastries, with the croissant being lovely and buttery.
I headed back to the campsite to wake Abi up with a pain au chocolat, and we then headed down to the local market.
After finding strawberries, we wandered up the lakeside to a lighthouse, but unfortunately it was covered up as it was undergoing renovation.
We stopped for lunch at Ma Maison, which was reasonably priced for the quality of food and service!
After a day of walking around and taking in the sites, we headed back to camp to prep our dinner, Pot Noodles!
After a few more round of cards, and a few local beers, I had finally taken the lead in our card game, but only by a couple of points!
